Onimusha: Way of the Sword has a new trailer showcasing gameplay, including a boss encounter with Dohatsu-ten. The trailer was unveiled by Capcom.
This latest installment in the survival action series is set to release on September 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch. The franchise, which merges Sengoku-era historical settings with supernatural fiction, originally debuted in 2001.
The trailer release follows the May 2025 launch of the remastered Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny for current-gen consoles and PC. Capcom previously released a remaster of the original Onimusha: Warlords in January 2019.
Fans of the franchise also have the recent Onimusha anime to enjoy, which premiered globally on Netflix in November 2023. Directed by Shin'ya Sugai with Takashi Miike serving as supervising director, the series brought the franchise's unique blend of action and mythology to a new medium.
